The Garrett Metal Detector Company is a well-known manufacturer of metal detection equipment, catering to a wide range of industries and applications. The company has a rich history spanning several decades. Here is a brief overview of the history of the Garrett Metal Detector Company:

The company was founded by Charles and Eleanor Garrett in 1964. Charles Garrett, a successful treasure hunter and innovator in the field of metal detection, established the company with the aim of producing high-quality metal detectors for various purposes.

In its early years, the Garrett Metal Detector Company primarily focused on designing and manufacturing metal detectors for the hobbyist treasure hunting market. Charles Garrett’s expertise and passion for metal detection helped the company gain recognition and establish itself as a trusted brand in the field.

One of the company’s significant contributions to the metal detection industry came in 1971 with the introduction of the first successful discrimination metal detector, the Garrett Groundhog. This innovation allowed users to discriminate between different types of metals, greatly enhancing the accuracy and efficiency of metal detection.

In subsequent years, the company continued to introduce new and improved metal detector models, incorporating advancements in technology and user-friendly features. Garrett metal detectors gained popularity not only among hobbyist treasure hunters but also among professional users in various fields, including law enforcement, security, industrial applications, and archaeological exploration.

In the 1980s, Garrett Metal Detectors expanded its product line and introduced a range of metal detectors tailored to specific industries and needs. The company developed models specialised for security screening in airports, government facilities, and public events. These security-oriented detectors played a crucial role in enhancing public safety and preventing the smuggling of contraband items.

Over the years, the Garrett Metal Detector Company has consistently invested in research and development, leading to the introduction of cutting-edge technologies in their products. They have incorporated advancements such as digital signal processing, multiple frequency options, wireless communication, and ergonomic designs to improve the accuracy, sensitivity, and user experience of their metal detectors.

Today, the Garrett Metal Detector Company remains a prominent player in the metal detection industry, offering a diverse range of detectors for hobbyists, professionals, and specialised applications. They continue to innovate and provide reliable and effective solutions for a wide array of industries, helping individuals and organisations locate and identify metal objects with precision and efficiency.

Metal Detecting world Championship thanks Minelab for coming on Board.

The Goal was to get everyone together for a great time including as many of the Detector companies as we could. Mission accomplished with the addition of Minelab.

I would like to personally thank Minelab for becoming involved in The Metal Detecting World Championship.

As so many of our entrants will be using their machines its great to see them Jump onboard and support those users by being there.

As we all Know Minelab have dominated the Australian market for quite sometime so to have them help us out is awesome. They have asked for some space and that has been granted.

It seems they have embraced our “Do something Interactive” ethos and have almost 200 square metres to play with.

The details will be finalised, But they are on board and along with Garrett US and Garrett Australia we now have the Biggest and the best metal detecting manufacturers in the world involved.

This represents the 7th Brand to come on Board so on the day you’ll have the unique opportunity to test out as many machines as you can, side by side!

Metal Detecting World Championship, Garrett Australia, Teknetics, Fisher and Bounty Hunter all come on Board.

WOW! 4 more Brands have thrown their support behind the Metal Detecting World Championship and we couldn’t be more thankful to them.

Garrett Australia have been supporters of our hobby for a long time. In fact there was a time when the only decent detector you could buy in Australia was a Garrett!

Still Today, Garrett hold the record for the Biggest ever Gold nugget found by a metal Detector and it will be a long long time before that record is broken.

Teknetics, Fisher and Bounty Hunter are all supported in Australia by Detectors Downunder http://detectorsdownunder.com

Bounty Hunter are well Known and plenty of people have cut thier detecting teeth with the Tracker IV and other Bounty hunter models. They still make excellent machines with TID Number systems that suit Australian Conditions.

Fisher are a huge Brand in the USA and make some very powerful beach detectors along with some pretty awesome coin, relic and gold machines as well. The Gold Bug 2 is responsible for many many small gold finds and the CZ21 is a proven underwater and beach killer.

Teknetics are a little less well known here in Australia but my mate used to towel me up with his EUROTek pro while I had my 705. It used to amaze me how well that machine went and for the price its a steal and an excellent entry level Detector.

I also still remember the guy at Wedderburn in Vic that found a sizeable nugget with his Teknetics T2 machine.

Without support from Brands Like Garrett Australia and Detectors Downunder Events of this calibre could not happen.

All the brands have donated generously and you can expect to be in with a good chance of leaving the Metal Detecting World Championship with something from at least one of them.

All Brands will be displaying their products at the Event and you are welcome to come along and try them on the day. There will experts Like Warren McGrath on hand to offer advice on model selection and how to get the best from your machines.

I would Like to Personally thank these companies for their support and I think as a community we should throw our support behind them.

Thanks for supporting Australian Detecting and Prospecting to Garrett Australia and Detectors Downunder.
